C&L Offers a Scholarship To ASU-Newport Lineman School

Applications are available for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a high-voltage lineworker. The successful candidate will be presented with a scholarship for tuition and books to attend Arkansas State University Newport’s High Voltage Lineman Program. (over $8,000 value).

Applicants must live in the C&L service area, score a 17 or higher on a college entrance exam, and be 18 years of age prior to the CDL portion of the program (November).

The fall semester enrollment period runs from August through November and the spring semester enrollment period runs from January through May. A 10-week internship begins in May. There is no on-campus housing available, and the selected applicant will need to supply equipment (hooks, tools, bags) estimated range of $1,500 to $3,000.

Before applying for the scholarship, contact Kenny Browning ((870) 512-7893) at ASU Newport for a pre-entrance pole climbing exercise. Fill out the application, attach 2 letters of recommendation and a High School Transcript, and submit it to C&L Electric by 5 p.m. March 29, 2024.
